2 weeks ago today she battled for her life
2 weeks ago today she came thru it and began her long road to recovery.
She has had her share of ups and downs, of success and failures. She has been terrified and confident. So much for one little girl to go thru in a very short time.
I wish I could take this away from her...to have changed anything so she didn't have to deal with this...but that would change my emmi and we love her just the way she is;)
These past two weeks have been harder than I have ever imagined...harder than I remember. Or perhaps I am just older. But regardless she has gotten thru it.
Her recovery isn't easy. She is still hurting often enough, the emotional trial has been hard on her too...but although she sees herself as not making any progress...she really has come a very long way in two short weeks!!!
We have good days and bad days...but even on the bad days we are grateful to be home, to be supported, to be loved.
Please continue to pray for her, it is so hard for her to accept that she is not better yet. Patience is so not her strong suit..she gets that from her mama I think :)
Physically she is doing very well...no worries there, but the tediousness of recovery is draining on her:(
Love,
Am
Many of us who have never been through something like this may have trouble relating to what Emily and your family are experiencing emotionally. You guys are in our thoughts and prayers. We want to try to make a short visit with Emily sometime this weekend if possible. Emily, this poem is truly meant for you! You are an amazing young lady and God has plans for YOU!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour presence is a gift to the world,
You're unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be what you want it to be-
Take it one day at a time.
Count your blessings, not your troubles,
And you'll make it through what comes along.
Within you are so many answers,
Understand, have courage, be strong.
Don't put limits on yourself,
Your dreams are waiting to be realized.
Don't leave your important decisions to chance-
Reach for your peak, your goal, your prize.
Nothing wastes more energy than worrying-
The longer a problem is carried, the heavier it gets.
Don't take things too seriously-
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.
Remember that a little love goes a long way-
Remember that a lot goes forever.
Remember that friendship is a wise investment,
Life's treasures are people...together.
Have health and hope and happiness,
Take the time to wish on a star.
And don't ever forget for even a day...
How very special YOU are!
That was one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read!! Be strong Emily and have faith that all our prayers for you will continue to be answered! May God bless you and your family this Easter weekend. We will continue to prayer for your strength and fast road to recovery. We love you Em!!!
