Emily did really well until it was time to get on the gurney...then not so well. She was understandably terrified and trying to get out of it any way that she could. It is so incredibly hard on her!!!!
Emmi spent a great deal of time clinging to Daddy...she said that out of all of us he would be the most likely to rescue her:). As if!!!!
They did allow me to go back into the OR with her until she was asleep...with yet another bunny suit of course...
Attractive isn't it? My pretending to hop did get the only smile of the morning so it was totally worth it;)
She seemed a bit calmer by the time we got back into the OR...more out of resignation than anything else. She was still begging not to do it, but not so hysterical.
I stayed with her until she was asleep...and left her sleeping with that teddy bear and her music.
It never gets any easier to walk out of that OR that is for sure:(
But it has begun.
We recieved our first update while I was composing this email. She now has 2 iv's, an arterial line, a central line and a catheter. They are prepping her for the actual surgery now and I should have an official start time around 10-10:15
Please pray for peace for her as well for all of us! She definately has that stubborn on that we all know so well! Tim had to physically pick her up and put her on the bed because she was flat out refusing!
It can be very hard to witness that, but that stubborn fighting spirit that she has always had has gotten her a very long way over the years...
