Emily is still not doing well. In all honesty I see her declining the last two days.
She ended up getting physically sick today...poor thing. And all day she has felt very dizzy and hot and sweaty. Ellen and I have the temp in here so cold for her that we are freezing.
She still is unable to maintain her oxygen levels. They started a new treatment today called an EZ pap. To artificially inflate her lungs to help with the oxygenation. She doesn't like the treatment but does admit it does help. We have done 2 doses ...and will do them every 4 hour hours while she was awake.
There is something going on and we are not sure what. They are running labs today to get a better idea.
Unfortunately both of her peripheral IVS won't draw, so she had to be stuck.
And her veins aren't good so both sticks and subsequent digging failed.
She was not happy about this and was demanding to speak to dr cordes because she trusted him.
Luckily for me. Dr T popped his head in and it could have him reassure her. But he was so NOT happy that he did not know she was feeling so sick. He is taking a look at things personally now and he ordered her to be put back on IV fluids.
We are going to try for a third time to get labs in a bit. They should give us some idea of what is up
Thanks for the update Amy!!! We are just aching for her and so sorry she is going through this ordeal. Hopefully Dr. T can get to the bottom of these recent issues. Tell Emily we are thinking of her and want to know when she would be up to hearing from Katie either by phone or text ???
