Last night was pretty uneventful. She slept well but evidently refused pain meds all night. Needless to say she woke at 9 with a massive headache and her side hurt like crazy...poor girl.
Her pain was higher on the pain scale then it had ever been so far, so 2 norcos were given. That kicked it pretty well.
We had some nice surprise company this am from Andy and Anita since they are here for a conference and that was fun;)
But then the nurse told us they were NOT pulling that blasted chest tube today. Which of course means we are NOT going home tomorrow:(. Boo! That resulted in a whole lot of tears. Poor girl just so wants to go home. To add insult to injury the stupid chest tube clotted off despite stripping it every 2 hours and to get it unclogged was rather a painful ordeal for miss em:(
She kept asking for her sister to come,so as soon as Taylor got off of work this am she started toward Indy. I am so grateful my girls have grown so close!
Unfortunately currently taylor is stuck in markle because her windshield wiper busted and evidently it can't be fixed easily. Hopefully she can find some rainex to at least either head here or home till we can get it fixed.
On the home front things are crazy with managing the household chaos and needless to say I believe at this point Tim and Sam are heading down tomorrow as child care for Sam was an issue:(
Its been some crazy drama here today let me tell you!
But now the good news,
Emily got up, we got her wiped down (no showers yet due to the chest tube). Got her changed, did her hair and put on make up even!!!! Then uncle Matt popped by with a fabulous talking 'stash that made her smile and we took a walk together..
My ipad has not been wanting to synch with my phone so I have been short on pictures here lately, but this was taken a couple of days ago. Who knew Riley had a beauticians sink????? Her sweet nurse washed that mess and painstakingly braided it for her:). Felt fabulous!!
Notice what's missing???????
She was able to get off the O's today and held her sats even during our walk!!!!
I can't guarantee it will stay off, but we have been off oxygen for over 2 hours now so that is indeed progress!!!!!
Wooohooooo
So we didn't get that tube out,but we did make some progress today!! I think we are both pretty happy with that:)
Love,
Amy

Good update, glad to hear that some progress is being made. The pics are nice too. Beth and I went up to the Clinic today for another incision check. Post op echo is tomorrow, then back to work in another week. Take care - A.J., Beth and Mark
ReplyDeleteGreat looking' pics. Emily looks remarkably great considering what she's gone through. Poor girl!!! We'll keep praying for more improvement and for the extraction of that last chest tube! Have faith! There is a good reason for all these delays and He is taking care of everything! Gods speed!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the updates, Amy! And Emily's pics were such a treat to see! She really does look great in these pics considering what she's going through! What a strong, brave and sweet girl she is!!! We are all thinking of you guys!!
