Emily never has "normal" oxygenation levels, however she is unable yo maintain her oxygen saturation even on 1.5 liters at this time. Unfortunately we do not know at this point what is causing that issue.
We are going to try some additional measures that which could be painful for her in order to improve her oxygen and open up her lungs.
But we know emmi is a trooper and has gone thru much more difficult challenges in the past.
We think this lack of good oxygenation has been a huge factor in her fatigue especially today. It seems that every day instead of her energy level increasing it is decreasing dramatically. Also Causing her to feel dizzy and nauseous.
Sadly she was not up to visitors today for that reason.
She got her central line pulled today, however her chest tubes are still in place and draing quite a bit. This as well as her inability to maintain her oxygenation moves our discharge date back toward likely the end of the week.
She was pushed to walk the halls today in order to promote the drainage, though she only did it so we would allow her to go back to sleep. At this point she is sleeping (or wanting to sleep) around the clock.
This is worrisome as her energy is decreasing instead of increasing.
I should know more tomorrow but please keep her in your prayers!!
Love
Amy
Amy, some of the girls are asking for access to this blog update page. Is it OK if I send them the link? It's Malleah Nickelson. I can give her link by private message if it's OK through FB, so it's not displayed publicly. I wanted your permission first though.
